The Deauville tote bag was introduced by Chanel in the 2010s. It takes its name from Deauville, a chic seaside resort in Normandy, popular with French high society and deeply connected to the history of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel. It was in Deauville that Coco Chanel opened one of her first boutiques in 1913, selling hats and women's sportswear. The Deauville tote pays tribute to this foundational period of the brand.
